Ryan
Breen was principal tubist with the National Youth Orchestra
and studied at Chethams School of Music under Stuart
Roebuck and Brian Kingsley. Ryan won the brass prize
in the Northern Guild Music Competition in 1993. The
same year saw him move to London to study with Patrick
Harrild, Jim Anderson and Oren Marshall.
In
1996 Ryan returned to his homeground of Manchester to
study further at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Ryan's high standards of performance have received recognition,
encouraging composers such as Jennifer Glass and Ian
McQueen to write for him. In 1996 Ryan accepted the
invitation to become a member of Tubalaté.
He
is highly experienced within the brass band movement
playing with bands such as BNFL and Desford Colliery.
He also has an impressive record in the orchestral world
and has worked with many of the country's leading orchestras.
